Two Bottle Set - 2012 Cabernet and 2013 Chardonnay

Chardonnay: Our 2013 Chardonnay captures the essence of the chardonnay grape from the Bacigalupi Vineyards, on the west side of the Russian River. Located just south of Healdsburg and northwest of Windsor, these vineyards were made famous in 1976 by Mike Grgich when he was Winemaker at Chateau Montelena. The fruit for the prized Chardonnay was harvested from the Bacigalupi Vineyards. The resulting wine won the White Wine Competition at the Judgment of Paris in 1976. (The competition that turned the world of wine upside down. Check out the Alan Rickman movie, "Bottle Shock”). That vineyard is still producing world class wines. The 2013 Entrepreneur Wines Chardonnay reveals the essence of the still resident understated winemaking power of the fruit from this vineyard. (Only 56 cases produced).

Cabernet: Our 2012 Diamond Mountain Cabernet is 100% cabernet grapes and was sourced from Constant Vineyard of the Diamond Mountain appellation . A tasting discloses flavors of classic dark cherry, cassis and hints of mocha balanced perfectly with spice and subtle notes of wood. Aged 22 months in French Oak barrels to produce a complex, yet delicate flavor. (204 cases produced).

2012 Mount Veeder Reserve, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Our 2012 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the 20 acre Crouse Vineyard in the Mount Veeder Appellation of Napa Valley – one of the Napa Valley's most unique and compelling appellations. The vines are nearly 30 years old and cared for by sustainable farming done by hand. This wine has a deep, dark plum core. Dark cheery fruit notes are bolstered by firm acidity, and rich, subtle tannins that speak to immediate enjoyment and long term ageabilty. Aging in French Oak barrels created its complex, yet delicate flavor.

Decant this wine for 30-60 minutes before serving to accentuate the maximum fruit aromas and flavor profiles of this very age-worthy wine.

2013 Bacigalupi Russian River Valley, Sonoma County Chardonnay

Sommelier’s Notes: The aromatic fragrances of White Moonlight Nasturtiums and the juicy white flesh of Zephyr Nectarines, wrap themselves around solid minerality -- granite, white chalky limestone, and playful wet pebbles you'd use to skim the water of a still shallow lake. This opens up to delicate scents of dusty white rose and grapefruit blossoms. The oak is neutral to mid-to-light-medium toast. The palate richly confirms the nose, and is redolent with pink grapefruit and firm white stone fruit sorbet. The wine is dry, and soft on the palate with medium, yet firm acid -- not bracing, nicely balanced -- that lingers on the palate through the elegant, lemon-lime blossom finish.

2013 Rutherford, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Our 2013 Rutherford Cabernet is from the heart of the Napa Valley “floor,” selected from a vineyard owned by Far Niente Vineyards. The soils of the Valley floor mostly consist of weathered mountain dirt washed down through the centuries in rainstorms – sedimentary, alluvial and gravel-based. This soil, combined with the extra heat in the Summer months, tempered by afternoon marine winds, creates an “earthy” or “dusty” style of cabernet. Rutherford cabernets are also know for their red-cherry base. Only 60 cases produced.

Wine Maker’s Notes:
A supple, seductive and extraordinarily ripe wine that will win it’s taster over! The approach is enticingly dark in the glass, the aromatics begin thick, fumy and packed with beautiful, long and elegant black fruit. The palate is equally entertaining with black plum, ripe cherry, a spice rack of oak and barrel vanillin, all supported with a nicely-textured tannin.

2013 Stagecoach, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
This is a very vibrant wine from an incredibly successful year upon the famed Stagecoach Mountain property, located East of the Silverado Trail. Developed in the early 1990’s by legendary grape grower, Jan Krupp, our hearty cabernet vines are grown at an elevation of 1200+ feet above the Napa Valley floor, in the Atlas Peak district. The difficult, and incredibly rocky and often steep terrain makes for amazingly complex and multidimensional wines known for their sharp sophistication and longevity in the wine cellar. Only 73 cases produced.

Wine Maker’s Notes: Beginning beneath a black veil and smattering wafts of layered 100% new French Oak vanillin, this Cabernet shows finesse and support with a broad spectrum of red fruit preserves, hot cinnamon candle wax, crushed rock, and a variety of Christmas spice. The palate is certainly youthful. The powerful flavors are striking and immediately grab your attention! As the bright raspberry and black cherry fruit unveils itself, there is lovely support coming from a sturdy backbone of lasting tannin. I appreciate this fine Cabernet perhaps the most for its upside potential in aging. I believe cellared correctly, this beautiful wine will go 25 years or longer.
